In this episode, the sixth installment of the ImpactWayv Podcast Series, ImpactWayv President and Co-Founder George Dolatly sits down with corporate training and technology innovator Jeremy Tillman to discuss Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in the 2022-era workplace and beyond. Tillman and Dolatly address how companies can approach one of today's most important workplace topics so that it's not merely a buzzword or an item to be checked off a training “to-do list.” Tillman explains that DEI is an evolving topic that deserves continuous examination and, if approached properly, can help strengthen institutions.

“It's not something that is going to happen overnight and it's emotional, and so you have to have space for those emotions,” says Tillman. “We're not going to get this [right] tomorrow, but we're on a journey together, and we're going to get there because it matters. We build these communities where the conversations can happen, and learning can happen.”

Among other insights, Tillman discusses the role of “Inclusion” as opposed to “Diversity” as a core value.

“We believe that inclusion is greater than diversity, and I know that's controversial coming from an African American business professional,” Tillman adds. “I want to see more people of color, more diverse people with disabilities, and more people getting opportunities. But if we don't create environments where people are going to be valued, or that are inclusive, then those efforts go to waste.”

In addition, Tillman discusses other aspects of corporate training and culture, the role of technology in the workplace, how businesses are emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic, and how his compelling personal background story and faith have shaped his views on these issues and society at large.

“This episode is a fantastic addition to the ImpactWayv Podcast Series,” stated George Dolatly. “Jeremy Tillman is a pioneer in the field of corporate training and one of the essential voices in crafting effective DEI strategies that will help create better, fairer and more productive workplaces. I think our audience will be pleased with our incisive, wide-ranging discussion.”

Prior episodes of the ImpactWayv Podcast Series have featured guests such as Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, co-founder of Run-DMC and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, discussing his empowerment efforts on behalf of foster children and other at-risk youth; 2022 Super Bowl champion Sebastian Joseph-Day of the Los Angeles Rams, discussing mental health and wellness in sports with former NFL player and Super Bowl champion Dominique Easley; and Gerald Torres, renowned professor at the Yale School of the Environment and Yale Law School, discussing Climate Action and his groundbreaking work in the field of environmental law and justice.

The video version of the podcast is live on YouTube while the audio version can be found on outlets such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts, in addition to all other major podcast platforms.
